How are assessments helpful?
They can help shed light on whether a child has issues with learning (e.g., in maths or reading), or why a child acts so differently to their peers, or to understand a person’s learning profile, or assess whether certain symptoms are best explained by autism and/or ADHD or another condition.
Assessments: What to Expect
Make an enquiry
Reach out via email or telephone to ask questions and check availability.
Booking an assessment
You can arrange an assessment via email or phone. During this initial contact, what you hope to gain from the assessment will be explored and a quote will be provided. An outline of the assessment process is also given, including:
• The initial appointment
• Whether you and/or someone who knows you well will need to complete some questionnaires
• Who may be consulted (e.g., parents, teachers, support workers)
• The number of appointments likely to be required
An intake and consent form must be completed prior to the first appointment.
If you choose not to proceed after the first appointment (or if it’s determined that an assessment is not clinically warranted at the time) there is no obligation to continue with the assessment. Only the initial appointment fee will apply.
Telehealth for new clients
If you are a new client requesting an assessment via Telehealth (most appointments can be Telehealth but not all), you will be asked to provide credit card details or make upfront payment.
